In Goa, a mid-level category for a Christian burial would cost about Rs 25,000. The plot is a temporary one (for approx three years, after which the bones can be interred in a permanent niche in the cemetery walls for another say Rs 10,000).
This would cover church fees, but not an elaborate choir (if you choose one), or having a mini-feast at home for those who attend, as some do. Which is why even if someone earns 60 times as much overseas, a life in Goa (if one is not permanently unsatisfied) might be a suitable one in some ways.... Agree?
