Many thanks, Roland, for posting the video clip featuring the Shillong (Assam) Choir. The quiet confidence exuded by the members was unmistakable; they were dressed elegantly and the women's blue-green gowns stood out in the St Petersburg Hall (Capella). The rendering was smooth & moving and I thought the male singer's introduction was perfect. Did you say it was some Bolly tune? But the interwoven Lara's theme came as a surprise. I am sure the Russian audience was impressed. They must have wondered: are these people Indians? Why no sari??

You’ll enjoy this old Bollywood number classically sung by the Shillong (Meghalaya State) Chamber Choir at St Petersburg, Russia, interspersed with their rendition of Lara’s Theme.

By the by, Meghalaya has one of India’s Northeast’s most beautiful women.
