"With regard to Travel Medical Insurance, for your safety and to avoid nasty
surprises, follow these basic precautions:

1. The policy is meant to cover emergency situations only, not regular ones.
2. Whether asked or not, disclose all pre-ex conditions to the insurer. This
will increase the cost but will fulfill the purpose.
3. Never buy online. There is no scope for explaining your situation.
4. Strictly heed the stability period, understanding what is meant. For example
by ?any change in medication? is meant increase or decrease in dosage,
increasing or reducing drugs prescribed within that period.
5. Complementary coverage from credit cards generally do not include pre-ex
conditions.
6. Always read your entire contract and ask for clarifications if you require
them."

Comment:
Roland, I have obtained this insurance when we traveled to Brasil for the World
Cup of Soccer and enjoyed great peace of mind. Of course we did not have to use
it but just to know that we would be covered and would be flown back home in
case of an emergency was worth the price.Do not understand what you mean by :
do not by online. Where else would you buy this insurance?

The link that I provided has the answers to  all the frequently asked
questions. The coverage is explained quite clearly . It is good for emergency
situations as well as "regular ones".Prepaid Insurance is definitely a better
value than paying directly for services provided. For example I had recently a
Prednisolone shot in my shoulder for a Rotator Cuff issue. The charges by the
provider were $920 USD but after Insurance coverage I ended up paying $53.
Can't complain too much about that.
