Never say die !  There is another alliteration of International Goan
Organization(IGO) WORLD ASSOCIATION OF GOAN OVERSEAS ASSOCIATIONS (WAGOA) which
made its appearance in 2007, and under its auspices celebrated the very
successful  Dinner Dance at the MandoviRiviera in January 2007.  It too has
gone into deep slumber, but not dead as a Dodo, at least not yet. That occasion
was supported both verbally and financially by Goa's NRI commissioner.
Goans are very fond of establishing associations. In Toronto there was aGoan
Overseas Association  dominated by East African Goans, and aCanorient
Assocition led I believe by Goans from Pakistan ?  And then of course we have
Goans from Tanzania, Goans from Uganda, and Goansfrom other places I presume.
And Goan village asociations, such asCalangute, AVC (Assolna Velim Cuncolim),
Parra etc.
In East Africa there was a saying "where there are two Goans you have a club.
Where there are three or four Goans you will find two clubs"  In Nairobi, Kenya
there was a Goan Institute, a Goan Gymkhana and aRailway Goan Institute.  In
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania there was a Goan Institute, a Friends  Union and a St.
Xaviers Society. That is the Goan way.......... .
