GOL BRASIL’s entry in India makes the nation the 12th country part of this project which was started by the Brazilian futsal giants to develop and promote football with their unique style and philosophy. “We are pleased to announce the partnership with the GOL BRASIL in development of futsal in Goa and India. The main goal of the GOL BRASIL is to develop aspiring footballers on & off the field. The initiative is designed to provide all participants with comprehensive training not only on the field but also on character development, leadership and team building skills and citizenship,” explained FAG President Benjamin Silva. This GOL BRASIL INDIA programme has two objectives: first, to nurture and enhance the leadership behaviors that many young athletes are beginning to display. And second, to help athletes transfer these skills from the athletic arena to other areas of their lives. “GOL BRASIL also promotes an international exchange program for youngsters from overseas that wish to develop their skills in football and have a great cultural experience in Brazil. The programme is offered to clubs, schools and representative teams or groups of individual players which want to have a once in life experience in the country of football,” added Silva. Marques will brief the coaches along with 60 odd players including 12 girls selected to undergo the coaching clinic and understand the Brazilian methodology towards the beautiful game. “GOL BRASIL works with development programming that understands the athlete's positive and negative characteristics and prospects in order to effectively achieve at an elite level,” said GOL BRASIL Technical Director Mauricio Marques. GOL BRASIL INDIA will also conduct an advance futsal clinic at the same venue on September 15 & 16. 15 & 16 advanced futsal clinic -16 players that have been shortlisyted across India. The GOL Brasil Programme will enable providers to establish entry level programmes and either affiliate with other GOL Brasil or grow their own programmes to higher levels including Center of Excellence and Club levels. GOL Brasil India is the official Indian affiliate of the parent organisation GOL Brasil which is based in Brazil and co-ordinated by CBF A License Coaches.
