Over the years the Goa Police have gone through a lot of Trials and Tribulations. I have never hesitated to demand justice for the Police Personnel in particular the neglected constabulary.
But the Goa Police’s litmus test will be tomorrow on the 22nd September at Agacaim. We will know whether the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police will be able to uphold the law, or whether their defiant Agacaim Police Inspector Uday Gaude will be able to allow that planned illegal bull fight being staged on the occasion of the birthday of a local politician who has close links with the BJP. In allowing that unlawful bull fight, Police Inspector Uday Gaude would be in very clear and rank contempt of Court. He should be mercilessly punished very severely for such high-handedness and dereliction of duty. While it is to be seen what steps the Chief Secretary and DGP take to ensure that the wings of Uday Gaude are tomorrow clipped and that the law is not breached, we would have to ensure that if the authorities fail to uphold the law, we step onto the battlefield at Agacaim to ensure that law is not made an Ass by the very dishonorable Police Officer Uday Gaude.
