TRUE MEANING OF DEMOCRACY The definition of democracy of, by and for the people needs to be reclaimed by the people. The only democracy left is elections, this also controlled by the parties! True democracy is from down up, and since the people are being ruled rather than served with the present system, we need to change things in public interest. Municipalities and Panchayats from where we must be allowed to function are taken over by the politicians and their cronies. Not only do we have politicians candidates standing for elections, but they are attending the meetings and controlling these organizations too! This renders the people powerless since they are adept at utlizing people's weaknesses to divide and rule. Since they have the police and enforcement agencies, increasingly our money and most media unfortunately at their beck and call, we are supporting a cockyed democracy! Like the women's ME TOO movement, we need to get together and shame those of us supporting this powerful system into being truly ashamed of it. That is if we can subdue our greed and selfishness and have some compassion for our planet and self respect in front of God and man!
