Sorry - but my appended message, addressed to Goa Book Club was 'accidentally' copied twice to the said club instead of to you. Here it is- with my apologies:
Mervyn Maciel The latest issue of OLD AFRICA magazine has an interesting review on a book on Joseph Murumbi titled Joseph Murumbi =A legacy of integrity". The book is by Karen Rothmyer, a seasoned journalist and former Visiting Fellow at Cambridge University. The book should make interesting reading as it focuses on Murumbi's early life, schooling in India and his quitting politics. Here's what the Review had to say: * "Murumbi's active political life in Kenya from 1962-1966 changed on 24th February 1965 when Pinto was gunned down* *in his own driveway. Murumbi subsequently resigned, citing the murder of his friend and incipient corruption"..* *Published by Zand Graphics, Nairobi, the book is available at leading bookshops in Kenya for Ksh.1500/-; also available* *on-line at:* *http://www. <http://www./>-africanbookscollective.com/books/joseph-murumbi.-a-legacy-of-integrity <http://africanbookscollective.com/books/joseph-murumbi.-a-legacy-of-integrity>*
