In tragedy this week, two strong women one from the USA and the other from 
Nigeria sent the same truthful message.

Susan Schmidt-Orfanos’ son had survived the Las Vegas disco club shooting only 
to be killed in the Thousand Oaks club college party shooting. I don’t want 
your prayers and I don’t want your thoughts, she yelled. I just want to stop 
guns.

Far away from that scene in California, a Nigerian woman who recovered from 
depression and mental problems herself and now runs a helpline to assist those 
in similar situations said “you can’t pray things away”.

Thoughts to ponder.
