This is a very similar narrative to the one that happened to me some months ago.

It was a very windy day and I had carefully parked my car taking into account
it could be dinged by a door being opened carelessly.

After the business meeting I returned to see a white sheet of paper firmly
wedged to prevent being blown away.

In beautiful cursive writing, the person said they saw an opened car door sent
crashing by the wind into my passenger side and the owner coolly driving away.
The colour and make of the car together with its licence plate number was
clearly detailed. No signature or phone contact of the writer was mentioned.

I copied and sent the note to my insurance company who arranged to take care of
all expenses connected with the damage. They told me the bill was sent to the
perpetrator’s insurance company who paid without any protest. Their client must
have admitted to the fault.

An anonymous kindly soul had saved me nearly a thousand dollars. Were it not
for that act of a duty-conscious person, I would have been out of pocket for
that large amount.

Roland.
