It is good that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has finally resumed work at the Secretariat at Porvorim. But the huge inconvenience that is caused to the travelling public while his convoy cheats its way from his Dona Paula residence via Bambolim to Porvorim and back needs to be avoided. Halting all traffic while Manohar Parrikar’s convoy moves on is unacceptable and very offensive. The Chief Minister should understand the plight of the people and not travel especially during peak hours further burdening the motorists for whom travelling is already a nightmare. If only Manohar Parrikar travels like the common man he would realize how bumpy and chaotic commuting on Goa roads is.
Before becoming Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had vowed not to use the police escort jeeps. But now he is using not only two but three. These police jeeps and the huge battalion of constables should instead be used for policing the streets of a very anarchic Goa.
