Laxmikant Parsekar had all that great potential to be a good and creative Chief Minister. But his path was deviously sabotaged by the then High class Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who instead of safeguarding our nation’s borders chose to be most of the time in Goa acting as the de-facto Chief Minster.
It is no secret that at the 2017 Assembly elections Manohar Parrikar very artfully ensured the defeat of Laxmikant Parsekar and Rajendra Arlekar so that he could return as Goa’s Chief Minister without hindrance. I have known Laxmikant Parsekar from the 70’s when we both studied at Dhempe College at Miramar and we were elected in the same year as General Secretary of the Student’s Council with he representing the College and I the Higher Secondary Section. Laxmikant Parsekar, like us all, has his own personality and possibly speaks bluntly what he feels but even as Chief Minister he was never ever sneaky, revengeful and vindictive like the current Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
