Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda scored a hard fought 2-0 victory over Wilred
Leisure Sports Club, Curtorim in the 15th All Goa Guirdolim Panchayat
Cup organized by Guirdolim Club and played at Chandor Church ground, on
Monday. The match started on a promising note with both teams playing
attacking football from the word go.

DBO Fatorda down Wilred Leisure SC
Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda scored a hard fought 2-0 victory over Wilred
Leisure Sports Club, Curtorim in the 15th All Goa Guirdolim Panchayat
Cup organized by Guirdolim Club and played at Chandor Church ground, on
Monday.
The match started on a promising note with both teams playing attacking
football from the word go.
The first 15 minutes saw both teams missing chances and some good
goalkeeping by both the keepers. In the 20th minute Cliff Barretto of
Don Bosco floated a perfect cross from a set piece on top of the area
which was controlled by Veliton D'souza who's effort on goal was let in
easily by Curtorim keeper Johnson Bhagot.
The game was then confined to the midfield till the lemon break.
Crossing over, Wilred Leisue SC attacked in numbers and tried hard to
find an equalizer but the Fatorda defence led by Roque Borges held their
ground.
In the 45 minute taking advantage of a counter attack Rahul Fernandes of
Don Bosco moved with the ball along the right flank and put in a
measured cross to Melvan Furtado who scored with a powerful grounder
which gave no chance to the Curtorim Keeper. The match ended 2-0 in
favour of Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda who advanced to the quarter finals.
