Atal Setu ,a spectacular wonder of lighting display After hastily inaugurating incomplete bridge, it is stated that it will be inaugurated again after a year That is a wonder of the bridge history .Where is the so called demand collated by citizens to allow and keep it open to view its grandeur. It is only the second cable staid bridge in Goa. At least a party was staged on the first bridge, that made it unique. The BJP Govt, is bereft of common sense hyping inauguration the a part of the bridge, which is simply a connection to land over water. It is not an architectural wonder, just cables and pre stressed cement blocks. It comes alive due to lighting in hue of colours, like any other structure lighted on celebratory occasions. Luring captive students in the afternoon , who understand little of science involveled and may at best soak the colourful display ;It can only be the a familiar sight from old bridges, now from a height., The elders, if they want a free ride by Govt. buses ,they will be plastered by lighting display in the late evening hours after sunset. I have never heard anywhere in the world ,people are invited to walk on the bridge and appreciate illusive beauty. There are longer and highest bridges around the world, and their inaugurations are routine matters of the protocol. The world highest bridge in France permits even a parachute jump and there are sensors embedded and regularly monitored physically. Once on the bridge proper, what is the grand beauty that beckons ? Is it not said that distance lends enchantment to view Regular travelers will be able t view it in good time. The idea of hosting a party need to be explored, so that inebriated ones can take a plunge.
The bankruptcy is further exaggerated by press invitation to Raga, holidaying in Goa to visit the monumental wonder and thereby conclude the development by BJP in Goa .Courtesy demanded a personal invitation being leader of Opposition and also being present in Goa. The safety of the bridge is of prime importance to the users as there are justifiable precedents,. Nanda Kumar a reputed scientist has flagged of concerns of wind velocity peaking 140 Km/hr on the bridge dangerous even to motor car traffic. Any wonder then why two wheeler are not permitted to ply on so called signature bridge. It may a good idea , if the lighting is maintained permanently for future visitors eye appeal, No press reports have sung the glories even casually, apart from press statements issued by some political luminaries associated with the construction The greatest wonder will be double inauguration after a year. and assurance that Atal Setu bridge is not falling down..........
