Dicarpale sc win shoot out.

Dicarpale Sports Club scored a 3-2 victory via tie breaker over Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda to move to the semi-finals of the 15th all Goa Guirdolim Panchayat Cup, organised by Guirdolim Club and played at Chandor church ground, on Sunday. The match started with both teams attacking each other from the word go. It was Paroda who had the first attempt on the rival goal in the 5th minute but Sezvin Fernandes failed to keep his shot down. In the 12th minute Mack Borges almost scored from a corner but his try was punched away by the Paroda keeper. In the 21st minute a powerful shot by Piedade Colaco from top of the box hit the crossbar and went out of play. Paroda on a counter attack almost scored but their forward Joel Furtado's feeble try was easily gathered by Avin Vales in the Dicarpale goal. Both teams headed into the break on level terms. Changing over it was Paroda who were more dominant but Sezvin Fernandes was again the culprit in the 45th minute when having dribbled a couple of Dicarpale defenders on the right flank he overhit the cross much to the frustration of Joel Furtado who was well placed to score. Soon in the 50th minute Joel Furtado brilliantly beat the offside trap of the Paroda defenders and only had the Dicarpale keeper at his mercy but his try went wide. Dicarpale brought in Paxton Gomes and they dominated proceedings in the last 10 minutes but could not score any goals. The match thus ended 0-0 at regulation time. In the resultant tie-breaker Rayan Furtado, Paxton Gomes and Avin Vales were on target for Dicarpale SC while only Pascoal Fernandes found the mark from the spot for Paroda. Avin Vales, Dicarpale keeper saved three penalties to take his team to the semi-finals to be played on February 9.
