Dicarpale SC enter Guirdolim Panchayat Cup finals

CHANDOR: Dicarpale Sports Club scored a fluent 2-0 win over Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda to storm into the finals of the 15th All Goa Guirdolim Panchayat Cup, organized by Guirdolim Club and played at Chandor church ground. The match started with both teams attacking each other right from the word go. It was Dicarpale who had the first attempt on the rival goal but Abhay Shetty misfired from inside the box in the very first minute. In the third minute Joel Colaco of Dicarpale intercepted the ball in his own half, dribbled past a couple of Fatorda players and lobbed the ball from the center line which was headed by Agnelo Colaco into the path of Robinson Colaco who scored with a bicycle kick past the stranded Fatorda keeper to give Dicarpale the lead. Fatorda lads then tried to regroup and exerted pressure on Dicarpale but their forwards were wasteful in front of goal. Taking advantage of a counter attack in the 16th minute Piedade Colaco released Agnelo Colaco who scored the second goal for Dicarpale with a beautiful placement shot. Having taken a two goal lead Dicarpale became defensive and this allowed Fatorda lads to commit more men forward but could not score any goals till the breather. Changing ends it was Fatorda who attacked in numbers and created a lot of chances but it was a story of missed chances galore. Edgar Noronha of Fatorda missed a sitter in the 40th minute when he failed to tap into an open goal. Soon it was Roque Borges who missed another easy scoring opportunity for Fatorda in the 50th minute when he failed to score with only the rival keeper at his mercy. The pair of Piedade Colaco and Jordell Gomes were rock solid in defence for Dicarpale, nullifying the moves of the Fatorda lads. In the dying moments Abhay Shetty missed an easy chance for Dicarpale. Dicarpale now await the winners of the 2nd semifinal to be played on the 10th of february between Rossman Cruz Nagoa SC vs Snows FA Raia.
