Oh I am so sorry Gilbert.

The bible message was not sent for the common people. It was sent for the use
of the priestly class so that they could maintain like they do in all
religions, exclusivity and thereby take advantage of the power that flows from
that exclusivity, through fear and intimidation.

Isn’t it the power and authority of the priesthood and the fear of punishment
that allowed the sexual abuse situation to happen.

It took a ‘Star of the Reformation’ John Wycliffe to translate the books of the
Bible to English in 1384 and Johannes Gutenberg in 1440 to print it en masse
for whoever wanted to read it.

But it took the Catholic Church another 550 years to encourage its flock to use
it and that too only to counter evangelist influence that relies totally on the
Bible message.

Growing up I don’t remember Jesuit or Lay authority persuading me that the
Bible ought to be looked into. Perhaps they feared I might draw my own
conclusions which according to you Gilbert is the wrong way to go about it.
