Doc,I have the utmost respect for you. As a kid, I read about you being in
charge of the Ngorongoro Conservetory Area - heaven on earth - and thinking
what a responsibility that was. You then topped that by being in charge of land
policy for the entire country. After that, you dealt with land/water issues for
the whole East African region.

I think I got the gist of your original argument on who the church is. I have a
slightly different view as to where the cleaning/purging should originate - and
presented them here.

As far as my surroundings are concerned, it was only the Catholic churches on
the border towns that were actively helping refugee and asylum claimants. The
further away you go from the border, the lighter your skin hue becomes and the
less interested parishioners were in helping the claimants.

Things changed when it was discovered that the Trump administration had a
policy of deliberately separating children from their parents at the border.
Churches, even the conservative ones, started to protest. As of today, there
are still thousands of children of refugee and asylum claimants who have
‘disappeared.’ They cannot be traced because the US govt has blocked the info
on where they have gone.

MervynPS, I am looking forward to meeting with you at the 100th anniversary of
the Dar Institute later this year.
