Elections are a stone throw away That enthusiasm is missing both on the part of
candidates and parties
Print media and electronic media are new substitutes ruling the propaganda
mill of publicity It has given rise to both fake and paid news by ghost writers
and pliable news channel
Gone are the days of posters, corner meetings, rallies, house to house visits
and mass meetingsEven the voter cards are not distributed by the candidates
Offices of the candidates and parties are a pass Those that are not subscribing
to news papers or using tweeter FB. WhatsApp remain uninformed Hence they get
the message through religious services Not all tune in to electronic media
for news but it is more for entertainment purpose
People are cautious with social media blaster used to deceive and mislead.
Entertainment by songs seem to attract many and tiatro are favourite haunting
grounds of politician for propaganda and highly subsidised either by free
passes or booking the complete shows at many places Announcements by moving
vehicles are on the decrease and so the pamphlets manifesto and achievement
booklets
Bars and coffee shops no more dispense free services upto to limit sanctioned.
Freebies or cash doled
Luxury goods mobiles etc are scarce commodities The strict vigilance has
curtailed these practices even through poder fisher woman newspaper and
vegetable vendors who are least suspect acting as couriers A new approach is
gaining ground of visits to factory workers convenient for distribution
Candidates sure of tickets start the greenies much in advance and visit voters
early in the day
Attendance at funerals weddings. Soccer finals. Village feasts and other social
gatherings are opportune moments to do the needful
Propaganda through religious bodies donating in general to clubs. Religious
institutions Trusts and other organisation seem to have better appeal and
results
Henchmen and stooges are under surveillance and many a times pocket the most
Parliament elections do not generate much heat as they do not touch voters
immediately
Two seats in Goa to be won by any party is only of academic interests
Congress central leaders have given a pass to this region except for AAP and BJP
They are taking voters for granted and also due to Lenten season and time
resources at disposal
Votes are angry and disgusted
If the choice is not good use NOTA rather then vote a useless candidate ,voters
opine
BJP is fretting to retain power by resorting to personal attack. mean and
cheap comments and references not befitting dignity of office. Religion is
branded as important and so is pseudo Nationalism and patriotism surgical and
Bagalkot strikes. The concocted Statistics and distorted data is least
understood by general public money and muscle power is playing its part
