News of the death of the talented, young Goan German-born musician Sanya Myla Cotta shocked Goa, coming here just as the state was celebrating Easter. Sanya Cotta (9/3/1986 - 20/4/2019) died in Belgium, Europe, where she was working on her talent and ready to take on even bigger roles. She was a much-appreciated performer in Goa and beyond. Sanya was ill over the past couple of months, and came from a noted musical family here, her parents being Schubert and Mexcy Cotta. The family returned back early from Germany and has been contributing significantly to Goa's musical scene.
