Jazz Goa was set up by music producer and bass player Colin D'Cruz in the year
2004. Today the non-profit organisation has grown into a global entity taking
music created in India to every corner of the world. The Jazz Goa app,
available as a free download at www.jazzgoa.com has given local talent a global
stage. Jazz Goa's music is also broadcast on a weekly radio show on the world's
number one jazz radio station Jazz FM91. Jazz Goa's youtube channel has over
two thousand videos many of which went viral making the artist household names
not only in India but around the world aswell. Jazz Goa's audio/video studio is
available free of cost to local talent, Colin's way of giving back to a
profession that gave him everything in life and more. The International Jazz
Day event hosted every year by Jazz Goa is now the most looked forward to event
in Goa drawing a full house every year. UNESCO the organisation that initiated
International Jazz Day has closely monitored Jazz Goa's events over the last
eight years and finally made an enquiry exploring the possibility of having Goa
as host city. Jazz Goa also hosts events in Canada every July at Toronto's
iconic jazz venue the Jazz Bistro. Future plans include hosting events at jazz
venues around the world and inviting international jazz artists to collaborate
with local artists and perform in India.
