Maritime Law, the law of the seas, usually allows ships to run smoothly on the world’s oceans, but there will sometimes be cracks in that well oiled machine that will cause immense hardship to those affected by it.
Here is one recent narrative of a stranded ship in the Port of Quebec that has been in port for a couple of years, abandoned by the owners who have gone broke.
