JUSTICE IN PRACTICE
Be you so high or low, the law is supposed to be the same? Gujerat BJP MLA
Balram Thawani slapped and brutally kicked a woman Nitu Tejaswani in public,
the video of the incident going viral on social media and television. What
should have or would have probably happened if he was not a MLA or from BJP but
some ordinary citizen or from the minority committee or a Dalit? Let us be
honest! Here is actually what happened. No police action at all. The
establishment moved fast, video clip vanished from media, television showed a
press conference called where the victim sat next to the said MLA and tied a
rakhee on his hand, he apologised . The BJP reportedly has given him a showm
cause notice. End of matter! Justice for those not in power and do not have the
wherewithal is very different, if it is there at all? Justice must not only be
done, but seen to be done. The people have overwhelmingly voted for Modi and
not necessarily the BJP. During the reign of Modi -!, Gaurakshas and lynching
went on, the PM made a statement condemning which had not much effect whilst
his spokespersons kept justifying non acton due being a State subject/ law will
take its own course and we all know what that means! Will the PM mean muscular
business with added solgan "Sub Ka Vishwas?"
