Public letter V/S private letter A group of celebrities have addressed a public letter to P,M drawing his attention to public lynching and terrorizing people forcing to utter Shri Ram. It is new phenomenon raising its ugly face and worst from of violence
The slogan Jay Shri Ram has entered Parliament to hackle those taking oath. The ruling party sees nothing wrong nor does it feel it sullies the decorum of the precincts of Parliament Jay Shri Ram was used to antagonize CM of West Bengal .Those signatories are being labeled as anti National and having political mileage to discredit BJP Govt. Instead of dispassionately looking at the issue and taking action the signatories are attacked personally. The P.M is saddened he said with political lynching and there the malady ends. No importance of it in his public address “man ki baat” The argument a private letter, an appointment with PM would serve the purpose better is a matter of debate as to which form is best suited. BJP spokesman are on record that such correspondence is best suited for waste paper basket .It is no sound reasoning that just because such issues were not highlighted in the past, they should be ignored at present. The signatories are within their rights, which issue should be focused upon. The BJP is allergic to any suggestions labeling it as criticism, which means you are either with BJP or against it The PM should accept and be willing to do so irrespective from which quarter it originates and give his due attention. Personal attacks against the signatories is not the best way to treat and address the issue Whether BJP calls it against BJP or it is political, the issue remains. In recent past intolerance in every aspect is on the rise and there is massive coordinated onslaught against any form of dissent against ruling party. The right to disagree is fundamental to democracy. Curbing dissent is authoritarian If the public letter is unworthy let people decide and any arguments against it be welcome, but not personal attacks denigrating the signatories, who are respected and recognized citizens who have the right to create public awareness .The winning elections and massive mandate does not give license to suppress voices of disagreement What about the voices of vast number of voters who did not vote BJP?
