Jovan to clash with Bedant in the final
GUIRDOLIM: Jovan Antao will clash with Bedant Rajgupta in the final of
the U-14 category Non Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, organised by
Guirdolim Club, at Guirdolim Club hall, Guirdolim on Saturday.
In the first semi-finals Jovan defeated Rivaldo Cardoso in straight sets
with a 11-7, 11-5 and 12-10 scoreline. In the second semi-finals, Bedant
showed his composure over his rival John Kujur and defeated him in
straight sets 11-5, 11-4 and 11-6.
Meanwhile, in the U-17 category, Joyel Gomes had to sweat it out before
he got the better of Bedant Rajgupta in a five-set thriller with a 7-11,
11-2, 9-11, 11-4, 11-7 scoreline. In the second semi-finals, Mayresh
Desai defeated Swatyam Desai 11-5, 11-8, 12-10. The finals will be
played on August 15 at Club hall from 7 p.m.
Earlier, during the inaugural function, chief guest Allan D’Cruz
declared the tournament open and Guirdolim Club president Patwin Fizardo
welcomed the gathering and Darwin Cardoso proposed the vote of thanks.
