Aires letter is in bad taste and perhaps he has not actually studied
Babush plans. I am his voter and I have been deliberating with him several
aspects number of times, mainly our Taleigao village interest and also
Panjim city at large.
Everybody is aware that his election vision document which states that
Casinos will be out of River Mandovi within 100 days after taking over the
reins as MLA which he succeed by defeating his nearest rival Sidharth
Kuncolienkar.
He waited after resuming charge as MLA but did not trigerred as there were
many hurdles in the Congress party, does not mean that he is against the
Congress party but the way the situation has cropt up among his colleagues
especially the senior ones/ elders who were found not cooperating hence he
decided a better solution in the interest of public but not a permanent one
to join the BJP. Pramod Sawant assured him if he joins these Casinos issue
will be sort out even by shifting them out of river Mandovi. Sawant took a
gamble and put a pressure on Babush whether he can get more numbers and
soon more numbers jumped out of Congress and the total figure from break
away rose to 10.
Aires letter should not have appeared at this stage may be he could have
waited until Babush fails his promise which i give you guarantee that he is
intelligent enough to get his vision document succesfull. All must
appreciate when he had two major cases one is rape and another stoning
police station which he is confident that nothing will happen to him as
there is no material in those both the cases. Look how smart he is that
Aires has under estimated him.
My request of my issue of illegal construction of 8 floor storage building
will be soon be investigated and stopped its construction which in my
opinion that the casino staff will be housed there and there are rumours to
start prostitution near my residence. Also he promised me that all issues
pertaining to the city limits will be taken care.
Let us give him time and see what he does and how he is going to conquer
Pramod Sawant to his side then Aires will be surprised of his

It is very disgraceful that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has decided to
handsomely reward Panaji MLA and chronic party hopper Babush Monseratte by
re-appointing him as the Chairman of the very lucrative Greater Panjim
Planning and Development Authority (GPPDA) for joining the BJP.
In May this year the very same Chief Minister Pramod Sawant during the
campaign for the Panaji Assembly Constituency by-election had publicly
stated that in view of Babush Monseratte?s serious criminal antecedents it
was wrong for the then Town & Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai to
have appointed Babush Monseratte as the Chairman of the GPPDA. So what has
changed now, Mr. Chief Minister? Does joining the BJP cleanse you of all
your sins?
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had also while raking up Babush Monseratte?s
criminal antecedents accused him of being a ?rapist? and that the women of
Panaji would not be safe if he was elected as MLA. Hope Pramod Sawant is
feeling safe now.
The Supreme Court has rightly ruled that charge sheeted politicians should
not be inducted in government positions. Babush Monseratte has serious
criminal cases pending against him including that of rape and stoning the
Panaji Police Station.
May sense and prudence prevail in Babush Monseratte not to crave for any
public position till he is cleared of all criminal cases. There is need of
probity in public life and this awful turbidity on the political arena
needs to be seriously and firmly dealt with.
