Pemba, Tanzania.
It would be hilarious it it weren’t tragic. An American man dove into the sea
to paste a marriage proposal on the window of a boat cabin through which his
lady was peering. The next thing she knows is that her beau disappears, lost to
the depths of a tranquil sea. At least she didn’t say “yes”.

Houston, Texas.
They tell us that Trump is off to a rally which isn’t his. The rally is
actually organized for Modi, by the city’s populous and opulent Indian
community. Both these leaders have little shame. Modi was refused entry to the
US not too long ago and keeps getting snubbed by Trump on import duties. Trump
on the other hand will grab any popularity going around, to show he’s doing a
great job. Rally today, Tax tomorrow! Next thing you know Trump will say he’s
been invited to India, with Modi quickly denying it.

Vancouver, Canada.
With elections round the corner, dirt was dug on Justin Trudeau, showing him
browning his face for a party while a teacher in high school. No sooner had he
apologized for this singular racial indiscretion, when it was quickly followed
by another press photograph this time showing his blackened face. Then a third
similar exposé followed. His excuse of a youthful prank didn’t cut it as he was
then 29 and a school teacher to boot.

Aldona, Goa.
If you want to see the path Goa is taking, not the least of which is in the
education system, all you have to do is watch the daily videos of the
shenanigans going on in the St Thomas Higher Secondary School and college in
Aldona village under labels like Peaceful Protest Day 1 (and day 2 and day 3).
It’s a free-for-all by a) current management b) transferred out management c)
parents supporting each of those two d) female students molested describing the
scene to the mobs and e) the accused male teachers telling their supporters
they are lily-white. The scenes are indescribable except by video and would put
to shame lynch mobs grabbing beef transporters. If this is the state of village
church managed schools (in this case the Francis of Sales Congregation based in
Madras) one can only wonder how Patshalas (free municipal schools) in the State
are run.
