We are not mere makers of history but are ourselves a part of history. Recognize your faithful ancestors. God and Man meet each other in the Holy Bible. Its a message of Love. The truth of salvation is found in two parts : The Old Testament and The New Testament.
Is it one book or many books ? If we look from God's point of view it is only one book. God is the source, the beginning and Author of the Holy Bible. When we look at the Holy Bible from man's point of view, we see many books form a Bible. Because it is written by many writers. All these books are written with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Hence it is called "Holy" Bible. The Holy Bible is God's letter to His children. In a personal letter we find who the writer us, whom it is addressed to, feelings, advice, request, happenings etc. which we also find in the Bible. Pierre Benoit states, "Bible is a painting not a photograph". There are principles to be followed while interpreting the Holy Bible. The truth content of the Bible is to be looked for primarily in the Bible as a whole and the truth quality should be investigated first of all in an integral part of the Bible rather than in individual verses and phrases. While judging the"truth" of the Bible, distinction to be made between the true "message" and the "modes of expression" used to convey that message. Ignorance of the Bible (scriptures), is ignorance of Jesus Christ. The Old Testament points to the Messiah - Jesus Christ. Jesus proclaimed the fulfillment of good News of God's Salvation as taking place in and through Himself. (Lk. 4:21; Jn. 5:39; Lk. 24 : 44) Bible is not a book on scientific study. It is a book of faith.
