The Assembly elections in Delhi were vissiated by political party .AAP inspite of grave provocations maintained dignity on its approach and refused to bite the bait. Remarks like goli maro gardaronco, go to Pakistan, vote will shock Shaheen Bhag, wonen are paid protestors and paid daily by PFI set the tone of hatred .Those firing at protestors and brandishing guns and one calling for sedition ,threatening with fear of raping were comments by responsible party functionaries that set the tone for riots in Delhi. The election commission did take actions but the party concerned remained non plussed, may be that same offender cannot be punished twice for same crime. The clash between the two factions of pro and anti CAA in close proximity was invitation for trouble Kapil Mishra in the presence of DGP warned that within three days the protestors of anti CAA must be cleared. Pelting of stones between two communities were first signs that were ignored from Sunday. For three days since violence, arson, killing, vandalisation followed unabated .The police were present as spectators but had no orders to disembark from busses and were out numbered .The unprecedented communal riots the worst since Sikh massacre left 30 dead scores with serious injuries and others too The loss of property to common citizens across both communities is very grave. The rioters used guns, iron rods, petrol bombs, lathis etc and appears that it was systematically planned in advance The inaction of law enforcers and politicians fanning the fires of hate and religion must be held responsible .The action , if any was too late and too little. The market cars and small businesses including religious structure bore the brunt and furry of the attack It will take time to heal the animosity, recovery of loss to property and business, however the innocent dead will not return nor the seriously wounded recover from trauma ,That this incident played out during an important visit of a dignitary has given it an adverse world publicity of great magnitude From ground reports it appears that the communities have been living in peaceful co existence in harmony for over years were caught in cross fires of motivated communal divide.
