Ever since the BJP has been in the saddle at the centre, the appetite to be in
power in every state is increasing by leaps and bounds
Either by win or by defections is the standard practice . It started with Goa
luring defectors with position and power immediately when BJP had no mandate
It them succeeded in Karnataka .All defectors received postings. It is now been
repeated in MP. with Scindia getting Raja Sabha nominations and with a hint of
central ministership to boot, Sachin Pilot and fortunes of Rajasthan are
keenly watched .Ache din ah gaye haim. Good days are here but for
politicians making mockery of democratic process Why any confirmation is
needed as to the reason of changing sides. There is no ideology or
principles nor ethics by jumping Chickens Besides posts and position of power
money changes hands and it is just an open secret Money is the new glue of
attraction
The mockery of defection law is there for all to see. After defection most of
them are reelected by the very same voters .Voters too want to be on the
greener side of the grass
A very simple law will disqualify all defectors and a ban for two terms
Neither the Speaker nor the courts will be left with anylegal interpretations
to do
The office of governor is acting in a clear partisan way .The appointee is a
ruling party sympathiser, holding office at the discretion of the
President , who too is the ruling party nominee .The post of the governor is to
rehabilitate discarded politicians inti the grave yard of Governors. This
position needs a rethink and subsequently abolition.
Nowhere in democratic country there is wanton abuse of political process .
At the most there are coalition Govt.. This is an unique subversion of
democracy invented in India with no takers anywhere.
The voters can only enjoy ring side view of this circus but have no say
directly. Once elected the politicians are masters of
their destiny justifying development as the the convincing alibi .The debate on
right to recall falls on deaf ears of law makers for obvious reasons
Democracy in India is for politicians, of politicians and by politicians
Finally it is the people who pay the costs of these experiments of tumbling
down elected Governments. There is nothing the voters can do except feel
frustrated , angry but there is no redemption from the malaise as same scenario
will unfold once again
