In a small area with population of ten thousands plus there is an MLA,number of panchayat members and M P , municipalities duplicating work and vying for funds and development to stay alive. Powers , funds are not devolved too. Some do not even know who the member is as MLA do not share close association woth such members Just for their personal greed and ambitions of gain subjecting voters to deadly risk of contagion is avoidable .It is against gathering norms, maintaining distance and above all self isolation. Is holding of Zilla panchayats so vital under present circumstance. ? The idea that is a precursor to elections in offing is weighing heavily on politicians for whom it is an employment and profession .It has been argued ad nauseum that these bodies are not essential in Goa considering area of reckoning If Govt remains adamant on postponement than voters must boycott voting in the interest of their own health, that of families and community.
