Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has completed a year on the saddle. While displaying his political immaturity time and again, he has not been in real control while each Minister is geared with his own agenda. The Government has been enveloped in confusion, contradictions and controversies. It has been an unending string of U Turns and reneged promises. Pramod Sawant has worked overtime very successfully poaching Opposition MLAs and swearing in Ministers post midnight.
The Government headed by the ‘accidental’ Chief Minister has been immersed in administrative chaos with deep rooted rampant corruption, nepotism and sheer bad governance. The rank impotence displayed by the Government on the very vital Mhadei issue is alarming. Let our unyielding resolve be to make sure that the battle for our Mhadei is a do or die. We need to ensure that every precious drop is saved for the well being of Goans. Posterity will never forgive us if we don’t aggressively combat this so vital Mhadei battle and allow our lifeline to dry up and our ecology destroyed. The escalating level of crime is a matter of grave concern while political interference in police functioning is turning Goa into a lawless State. Goa today is a very unsafe destination having now evolved as India’s gambling, prostitution and narcotics den. Nothing more needs to be said on how the Mining dependants have been hoodwinked with never ending dates and deadlines We need to find a way forward to rescue Goa from the current administrative anarchy while safeguarding what little remains of our once beautiful and tranquil State.
