During the current lock down in Goa and compulsory home stay & work from home schedule to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus, GOACAN volunteers through their respective Consumer Forums & Consumer Welfare Clubs are reaching out to consumers on the importance of community participation & support to the health awareness drives of the PHCs, UHCs & CHCs in the Municipal Councils & Village Panchayats. The fortnight long outreach through phone calls, emails & messages through social media which will end on 7th April World Health Day, will also focus on the importance of the Village Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Committee (VHSNC). The current focus of this awareness campaign are two comic books on Coronavirus for Kids – Kids, Vaayu & Corona: Who Wins The Fight ? a comic for COVID-19 Awareness and Kids, Vaayu & Corona 2: Can we defeat Pandemic ? a comic for COVID-19 Prevention. The comic books are an effort to spread awareness among children and provide information on the outbreak and how they can remain safe. 'Kids, Vaayu & Corona' designed by the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research and Panjab University, Chandigarh, has Vaayu as a superhero who has been called upon to educate the children about the pandemic so they can 'fight' it. The books are conceptualized and written by Dr Ravindra Khaiwal, Additional Professor of Environmental Health- PGIMER- Chandigarh and Dr Suman Mor, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ https://www.mohfw.gov.in/pdf/CoronaComic2PGIPU22Mar20.pdf https://www.care4cleanair.com/media --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
