On 9th April 2020 it will be 100 days since China notified on 31st December,
2019 the WHO  Office in  Wuhan city of the "pneumonia with unknown cause" (
which was later christened as COVID 19) .as per the regular press today 8th
April, 2020 briefing of the WHO available online.
The  Government of Goa has thus far fared exceedingly well in controlling the
"super spreader "  since the first case was reported in India on 30th January,
2020  and has yet to reach the 100 day mark.
Goans who have migrated to greener pastures both on land and sea to make a
living, but  return home periodically. Besides that a sizable number of
migrants from other Indian States who earn a living in the State working in the
construction fisheries hotel industry to name a few. .There are both domestic
and international visitors to the State. This ground reality in India's tiny
25th State would have made things immensely difficult to tackle. this virus -
now a "super spreader".
However, with  both the Chief Minister and Health Minister of Goa working  in
tandem. Our  Government  Doctors,  Nurses, and allied health workers,  even
those maintaining the essential services,  providing the  essential
commodities, those involved in clearing garbage & other sanitation works, the
Police have all  indeed  forsaking the risk to their own life and neglecting
their loved ones have shown exemplary dedication to attain  this record and
appear most certain to continue to do so in the coming days.
It is the fervent appeal of this writer  to Goans world wide to spare a thought
for  these new warriors engaged in eradicating this virus from the face of this
Earth  in  what appears to be  a "biological warfare" being discreetly
unleashed on humankind  as  the  world moves on to the  next hundred days.
