Sung by Eddy Grant a Guyanese British singer and songwriter and released in 
1988. He is now 72 and was the founder of the first UK integrated pop group and 
the creator of the Ringbang music genre.

Give Me Hope Jo’anna is an anti-apartheid song and Jo’anna refers to 
Johannesburg asking the city for the hope of freedom. The song was banned in 
South Africa but it was widely sung nevertheless.
