The site gives it an identity ,confered for its ouतस्तानding features of at least of 100years .It is eligible for global funds for protection and conservation What is disturbing from public knowledge is the silver casket,coffin ,priceless statutes , paintings ate in ruins , neglect over years .If assistance cannot reach such artefacts over years then what is the worth of world cultural heritage tag? The site is most popular ,pilgrimage significance over 400 years both in India and overseas .The faithful of different beliefs are united in celebrations ,devotion and paying obessaince. Is the local ASI has long or short term plans and funds allocated? The oftened repeated pleas of lack of funds is frustrating. answer Maintaining of physical structure too is sacred duty of ASI .In the approaching monsoon ,exposing the roof, wood ,walls ,floors etc to vagaries of nature without adequate covering of at leadt temporary plastic sheet is deliberate negligence to undermine the sacred place of minority not withstanding lockdown etc a lame excuse of justification of inordinate delay .It is only after Rector raised alarm in distress that ministers ,catholic MLA’s ,woke up from slumber for vote consideration and pay lip sympathy The offerings round the year and specially during feast are collected by ASI . Other income generated by properties around are secured by ASI. At least make public its income ,expenditure plans ,budget for year , beyond and shortfall . What is the purpose of local office of ASI? Defacement, encroachment ,loss of artefacts too must be protected ,as illegal religious structures are springingup in the vicinity The state benefits largely by tourism tag of WHS .The site is of cultural historical and religious significance .What is the annual funds received from UNESCO local and philanthropic bodies .? Crying wolf of lack of funds is amusing the site with WHS tag. There is outcry ,deafening as deliberate neglect .The benefactors a re willing to come to aid from across religious spectrum and heads of Church The case of lack of funds has never been justified by ASI and too late to be absolved because of public outcry The tag just for publicity and without demand for release of sufficient funds for most sacred artefacts is useless. The ASI must come clean and so the state about its responsibilities or hand it back to the Church. who had maintained and protected it over 45o years Publicity tourism , funding , global assistance in repairs , protecting from encroachment defacement conservation are primary goals of WHS
