Pan shops to be opened The Govt of Goa has not come clear on this issue. Is pan an essential commodity? How many Goans are addicted to relishing pan? Is lack of this habit cause of any known withdrawal systems which are life threatening? Everybody knows that it is serious cancer causing habit and it is injurious to health., besides being a sanitation issue ,There is almost a health campaign against this habit. Now spitting is banned and public spiting is liable to be fined. After eating pan the spit is normally thrown out in public space. Now the virus in that saliva can be active for 24 hrs if not more .Any one coming in contact can be infected and thus be source of contagion!of corona virus pandemic Who is going to monitor this public nuisance? The opening of pan shops at this juncture is ill advised. Should society carry on a campaign to close such outlets? It is the non goans who are by and large habituated to this habit and get a kick out of it depending on the variety of product Is it another way to pander to migrant vote banks at the cost of public health. Goans want to know
