Every Goan should be so very proud and ever elated that four of our Dy. SP Goenkars Sammy Tavares, Mahesh Gaonkar, Serafin Dias and Lawrence D’ Souza have been promoted as SPs in our little State.
All the four have been our very dear friends for the last many decades. But what matters the most is that they have performed outstandingly in discharging their solemn duties as Police Officers without fear or favour. Personally I would be failing in my moral duty if I fail to recognize those very outstanding and daunting skills of Sammy Tavares in tracing all the way in Mahableshwar that very night those accused who dared to attempt to kill me on 13th October 2009 at my favorite Chicken joint Ashok Restaurant behind the Panaji Post Office. Sammy Sir, I remain indebted to you. I am sure that all these four very dynamic officers will be an invaluable asset to the Goa Police under the current very able stewardship of current so proactive acting DGP Jaspal Singh. Let us shower all our blessings on these four promoted officers while not forgetting the entire Police force who have been struggling round the clock to successfully serve us even in these recent COVID -19 pandemic very troubled times. May the God of all Faiths bless every single member of the Goa Police force not forgetting our departed cops and their families. We owe it all to these so brave Warriors.
