PRESS RELEASE - Goa Sudharop launches new project with fashion designer Verma
D'Mello

Goa Sudharop Covid 19 project

Goa Sudharop's Thread-Up team based in Goa is a partnership between Goa
Sudharop and Goan fashion designer Verma D'Mello which trains village women in
the clothing industry. They are going to make and donate various types of
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) designed for different categories of
frontline workers in Goa to help them stay safe and protect their health during
this Covid-19 pandemic.

We also appreciate all the risk being taken by garbage collectors and so safe
PPE wear is being designed specially for them too.

The protective masks and gowns will be made from unspunbonded polypropylene
fabrics as it restricts transmission. These items will be made by the village
women trained by Ms. Verma D'Mello on sewing machines donated by Goa Sudharop.

Goa Sudharop had previously provided food to Goan villagers impacted by the
pandemic
