Lagrimás Negras is a bolero-son (slow bolero) composed in 1929 with lyrics and
music by Cuban composer and singer Miguel Matamoros and originally recorded by
Trio Matamoros. It is one of his most famous songs.

The song is about a man who mourns his spouse who has abandoned him. He says he
doesn’t want to cry because he will only shed ‘lagrimás negras’ (black tears).

This excellent version is by Cuerdas Fusion Quintet led by violinist Luis Diaz
with lead vocals and percussion by Yenis Garcia.
