A good illustration of how North American newspapers are managing financially.

The Toronto Star is in the process of being sold to two private investors. The
buyers are paying a cost that is less than the cash the company holds. It has
no debt. And they will take the ownership from public to private.

If all goes well and they follow the path of acquisitions of the Washington
Post and the New York Times, this $52 million buy will turn into a billion.

The rich becoming richer and the rest of the company - journalists and all,
working off their butts to manage that.
