Solenzara is a beautiful paradise-like island bounded by the ocean and the
Solenzara River in southern Corsica, itself an island, part of France.

The song is about a guitar-playing fisherman who meets a beautiful woman on the
sands of the beach one evening and instantly falls in love. He asks her to
visit him at least every summer in Solenzara.

Enrico Maçias (real name Gaston Ghrenassia) is an French singer songwriter of
Algerian-Jewish descent. He payed the guitar from childhood entering an
orchestra at 15. Fleeing to France from his native Algeria after persecution
for opposing Algerian independence, he became a leading Parisian interpreter of
Arab-Andalusian and Judeo-Arabic music.
