Dear Adolfo-bab, Thank you very much for your warm words.
My wife and I have fond memories of our 2007 visit to Palácio do Deão in Quepem. The owner (Ruben?) was kind enough to show us around. It wasn't intended as a photographic visit and I did not come back with any compelling photographs. Perhaps I need to go there again with the express purpose of photographing it. Recently I published a video of Canacona that includes areas (Quitol) of Quepem taluka. I have as-yet-unpublished work in Canaguinim, Balli, Malkarnem, and other villages but I have yet to do much in the town itself. An incidental observation apropos of nothing - The people most keen on my photographic work on Goa are Goans settled abroad (UK, Europe, Australia, Canada, USA, Brazil, Africa) or Goans in Goa who returned after living abroad. Interestingly, some of the biggest purchases and appreciation of my photos of Goa's Hindu temples and deities have come from the Portuguese (the very people some Goans seem to reserve a great deal of venom for). The people least keen on my photographic work on Goa are Goan Hindu bamons (nota bene, makes not a scintilla of difference to my life), who, as is well known, have opinions on everything and knowledge of nothing :-) Adios, r On Friday, June 19, 2020, 08:30:21 PM GMT, Adolfo Mascarenhas < [email protected]> wrote: Rajan Parrikar [email protected] For many many moons, I meant to write to Rajan Parrikar and to thank him for his service to Goanet and us Netters. Grandolfo In Quepem … PS .Do you have any pictures of this Garden town Quepem, starting with the Deao’s Palace and the Kushavati river and the green fields? Or of the highest point in Goa or the Destruction caused by the Mining activity. I just have insatiable needs about the environment and history of Goa..
