DONA PAULA COMPOUND WALLS COLLAPSING? STEPHEN DIAS DONA PAULA 20.6.2020
WE all are aware of the traffic congestion near the slope of Dona Paula closer to the circle where a number of accidents have taken place. Very soon and once both the huge illegal projects are completed like 8th floor building and the Tourist bus stand the traffic congestion is going to multiply. These projects are handled by the same Contractor and there are no revised approvals because of number of complaints kept on coming and the authorities are not issuing fresh approvals hence it becomes illegal. Whenever we inform Taleigao Sarpanch nothing happens but it appears shifting a blame game from Taleigao Panchayat to others like GSIDC , CCP, NGPDA or PWD. Today ( 20th June) I was informed by the owner of the building which is situated at the side of 8th floor illegal building that his compound wall collapsed. Previously a wall of St Antony building collapsed which was at the left side. A few days back a wall of NIO colony had collapsed at the nearby project run by the same contractor. It looks that there is no authority to take care of such illegalities at Dona Paula and the compound walls keep on collapsing. Below are photos attached of all three collapsed compound walls.
