Village Panchayat responds

Vis a vis a post published in The Goan about safety of commuters and
pedestrians due to dagerously tilting trees authorities are shifting
responsibilities
In the past it was just providence and luck that falling ,uprooting crashing
against trees between st sebastian Chapel and dandeavaddo did not cause any
loss of life
The acquistion was done for two lanes in 1988 and two lane expansion was
completed
The acquired old trees are still obstruction vision of motorist and are a
threat too
The PWD has ignored regd letters to that effect. Electricity Dept too is
playing hide and seek ,deflecting responsibility by passing on the. buck as
electrocution can aggravate matters
The Panchayat explains of efforts made but in vain. The trees were marked,
dissater Management body was kept in loop, permission sought from environmental
body and forest dept has lapsed due to non conpoetation of bodies concerned
Some old trees are dangerously tilting and may cause damage to life and
vehicles. Act now
