Adrian J. Fernandes MY MEMORIES ARE FOREVER
The “Africander” experience I was privileged to be sent a PDF copy of an autobiography by Adrian J Fernandes. Adrian was born in Goa and for the last 16 years he has lived in Goa. I found the book uniquely surprising. The Africander is not confined to Dar es Salaam or Tanzania but stretches all the way to Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namabia. The book was printed and published in Namabia. His siblings, Assis, Augustine and Balbina were all born in the Southern Province of Tanganyika. Clemy his beloved has generally accompanied him to far off places. :::: More remarkable are the children and grand children…it includes, a ballet dancer, an artist, several anglers. I was disappointed that living in the south he did not learn to appreciate Makonde Wood Sculpture. Adrian has families and friends in Europe, North America and ofcourse he went for the World Cup in Brazil. Must be a paka Goan if he is addicted to football. His brother Father Augustine, after graduating in the Vatican, is deep in southern Tanzania I wrote this contribution mainly because I hope that this book will be printed and published in Goa. It cuts through racism, its about our profession and responsibilities . Some it would be good if others read and echoed, and were encouraged to write about be a Goan I am tempted to just post the Contents of the Chapters Grandolfo In Sanvordem....no email in Quepem
