In Chapter 8 – The Konkoni Card – the outcome is described what happened in a boys’ school. It was run by Capuchins, the priests evoked rule 23 and its variant and punished pupils for speaking Konkani. By the time they finished school they were fluent in English, Portuguese. The book is full of anecdotes including serious matters like the Caste issues among friends and its impact on Education. Chapter Nine – Brown Hair Episode is not treated in a dismissive way. The reply is a demonstration that it is still possible to be a bamon and have friends of another caste. The real Goa and Goans emerge when people become broad minded
