Now, now, Roland, that was a rather harsh depiction of the country I love, and
proud to be a citizen of.
The past 4 years have been difficult, but the buffoon in charge, while worthy
of all the labels attached to him, had a method to his madness, and despite his
buffoonery has significant achievements to his name.  The list of those
achievements, I will leave for another time.  For now, we Americans revel in
the triumph of our democracy and look forward to the new inclusive leadership,
and the USA retaking its pre-eminent  leadership  position in the free world.
Now it is time for our nation to heal.
Trump touched a nerve among the Caucasian  Americans who  have slowly seen the
decline in their proportion in the American population, and longed for a return
to white leadership.  This was the last gasp attempt to re-assert their
lordship.  Time and tide wait for no man, as the demographics of the USA has
taken an inexorable change.  The election of Barack Obama was the precursor of
things to come.  The election of Donald Trump was a backlash to the black
Presidency.  With the  election of Biden, the ship of democracy has righted
itself, with a white President and a multi-racial female vice-president.  Green
shoots which in time will see a sea change in the U.S. political
environment.Changes in the American corporate world have led the way, with
Indian CEOs in some of the largest corporations in the USA.Who could have
predicted  such an occurrence ?  I look forward to Latinos and African
Americans also taking on more leadership roles. The American Supreme Court is
still lopsidedly Anglo-saxon, but his too will change in time.  Political
institutions like the Congress of the United States need to reflect the
demographics of the country.  This will happen.
Roland, I am still gung-ho on my country - the USA, Land of the free and home
of the brave.  This is the country that people from all over the world still
aspire to  emigrate to, and  to seek higher education. Case in point is that
the daughter of the President of China  is studying at Harvard.  The resurgence
of China began with the visit of President  Nixon to China in the 1970s.  He
was invited by the ne pragmatic leadership in China after the demise of Mao
Tsetung., As a result of his visit thousands of China's brightest students were
invited to study in elite American Universities, and returned to China to pass
on their new found knowledge.  This is what led to the resurgence of China, and
what America means to the world. A beacon of hope.
I end this with " God Bless America, Land that I love, Stand Beside Her and
Guide her...…."  The future is bright with America's new leadership.
