He is a remarkable writer and has written on a range of subjects with a
refreshingly original perspective.
We Goans, on the other hand, can go no further than call Trump 'worst',
'liar, 'narcissist' and such, and then return to our masses and novenas
(in a manner of speaking).
I guess we have been helpless victims of our colonial history, unable to
fight back.
In contrast, Trump or any western leader is usually a WHITE man securely
protected by privilege and unflinching loyalty of other whites. These
whites, all from Europe, came without visas and grabbed the whole
American land mass by the gun - the Anglos took the North & the Latins
the South. They turned the Americas into Europe II. The Natives were
slaughtered by the million and the Church (brought in by the same Euros)
did not object. The Euros believed theirs was the one true religion and
that it was their duty to convert all the Browns into Christians.
Pope Nicholas V decided to give Portugal full backing for imperial
conquest and issued a Papal Bull (decree) issued about 1454.

What arrogance from the European leader of the Catholic Church. Not a
thought is spared for the wishes of millions of brown indigenous
inhabitants of the region with their own beliefs and culture. They are
assumed to be an ignorant, godless mass to be 'saved' and brought to the
true European faith called Christianity.
Racism got built into the political and religious framework. As a
result, European leaders in the many states of the Americas had no
qualms in insulting and looting the browns and blacks. No media outlet
would rebuke the White leaders, no Church would condemn them.
Most of the whites voted for Trump in the hope that Whites would
continue to rule by majority.
But fortunately, the US demographics are changing and it is the votes of
the Blacks & Browns that led to Trump's defeat.
More shocks for the Whites are to come.
