‘Dar’ even in Konkani means ‘door’. Probably entered Goa through Arabic via 
Portugal.

Salaam is also a Hindi/Urdu word entering India from the Persian also 
originating from Arabic, although the Persian word for peace when not used for 
greeting is ‘pes’.
